Sea Moss:- How to prepare!

Sea moss, is a type of seaweed that grows year-round inlets.

Sea moss is commonly harvested in the Grenada pristine oceans, a gelatinous carbohydrate used in baked goods and cosmetics. But sea moss can also be eaten on its own, and it is often used to thicken soups and stews. Use as a nutrient filled facemask or deep hair conditioner.

Sea moss gel----

Sea moss gel is a natural, nutrient-rich product derived from sea moss. It is high in minerals such as iodine, potassium, and calcium, and is a good source of hydration and hydrocolloids. It is often used as a thickening and stabilizing agent in food, cosmetics, and medicine.

Sea moss is known to boost the immune system, can help expel mucus and other flu like aliments. Taking 1 to 2 tablespoon of Sea moss gel or Sea Moss powder is all the body needs.

Tip #1 -

Pre-wash 1 cup Sea Moss in spring or filtered water, do this twice with just enough water to cover the sea moss in a bowl.



Tip #2 -

Add spring or filtered water to cover the 1 cup of sea moss for Pre-soaking. Pre- soak for at least 20 hours. Sea moss should be soft and ready for blending.


Tip #3-

Sea moss will quadruple in size, add 2 cups of the used pre-soaked water to 2 cups of hydrated sea moss (1:1 ratio) in blender and blend on high speed for a thinner gel consistency.


Add 1 cup of the used pre-soaked water & 2 cups of hydrated sea moss ( 2:1 ratio) in blender and blend on high speed for a thicker gel consistency.


Tip #4-

Pour into a mason jar and refrigerate for 5 hours or start using if desired, keep refrigerated for use. The solution should form into a gel when refrigerated. The life span of this gel can last for 3 to 4 weeks refrigerated only. Other alternative is to freeze as ice cubes for longer life span.


Serving size per person is 1 to 2 tablespoons in your baked treats, smoothies, cereals, soups or stews. It acts as a natural thickening agent with a neutral bland taste.
